080605-N-7981E-409 Arabian Gulf (June 5, 2008)- Aviation Structural Mechanic Airman Brian Thurman, a landing signalman enlisted (LSE) assigned to "Golden Falcons" of Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron (HS) 2, directs an MH-60S Knight Hawk assigned to "Wildcards" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23 as it delivers stores on the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) during a vertical replenishment at sea with Fast Combat Support Ship USNS Rainer (T-AOE 7). Lincoln is deployed to the U.S. Navy 5th Fleet area of responsibility to support Maritime Security Operations (MSO).  MSO help develop security in the maritime environment, which promotes stability and global prosperity.  These operations complement the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to disrupt violent extremists' use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
