Blainville's Horned Lizard (Coast Horned Lizard) - Phrynosoma blainvillii - These beautiful lizards are becoming very rare because of the introduction of the Argentine Ant to Southern California. The Argentine Ants wipe out the native harvester ants which the horned lizard depends on for food. The lizard cannot eat the Argentine Ants and so as they spread, the lizards' range diminishes.
